Made from timber left over from a recent building project, with some of the timbers carefully and curatively burned.
Many trees sacrifice their carbon absorbing self, in the form of landing clearing and providing raw materials, so that we can build places to live. It only seems right that we treasure this sacrifice by not disregarding this gift.
Only 50% of Australia's forests and bushlands remain intact compared to pre-European arrival. On a global scale, 35% of the world’s forests have been destroyed.
This work is to salvage the hope that we can do better to make the most of these precious materials and in this case, use the sale of the work to put back what has been taken. 50% of the sale price goes directly towards building biodiversity through plant purchases for 5 Acre Farm.
